Little One @ 7 months

This Little Face:

It brings me joy, comfort, peace.

It reminds me every day that God is in control, not me.

It reminds me that second and even third chances ARE possible.

It reminds me of Papa Bud and how much he would have loved this baby. She has his sweet smile.

It reminds me of PawPaw Hanson. He would have squeezed her chubby little body. She has his wispy blonde hair.

It reminds me that the best job I could ever have is one of being a MOM.

It reminds me of love.

Thank you Jesus for this little face.

Happy St. Patricks Day!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Today also marks our 11th marriage anniversary!

My family is sick today so the celebrations will be kept to a minimum.

This stomach bug does not want to leave our home. I am just praying baby Karsen can avoid it.

This is a prayer taken from the breastplate of St. Patrick's. Hope you will enjoy!

Christ be with me
Christ before me
Christ behind me
Christ in me
Christ beneath me
Christ above me
Christ on my right
Christ on my left
Christ where I lie
Christ where I sit
Christ where I arise
Christ in the heart of every man
who thinks of me
Christ in the mouth of every man
who speaks of me
Christ in every eye that sees me
Christ in every ear that hears me
Salvation is of the Lord.

DUKE all the way

It's March Madness. One of my favorite holidays.

This is a screen shot of my brackets.

Yep, I've got DUKE going all the way.

Every year I pick them to go all the way, and sometimes...I am right!

LETS GO DUKE!!!!

Busy

It has been a busy week full of errands and doctor appointments.

Karsen learned to play her baby piano which is quite cute considering she hasn't quite mastered sitting up yet.

I love watching her grow. She has become very curious in the last few weeks. She reaches for everything and sticks it all promptly into her mouth. She is teething and has been fussier than normal. She loves being held so basically that's all we do all day.

Where does the time go?

Goodbye Winter

I am going to miss winter. By mid March, I always come to the conclusion that winter is no more and I need to prepare myself for Spring.

I like Spring. I even love early Spring. Its summer that I dislike.

Give me a blizzard over tornado warnings anyday. A brisk 34 degrees over a melting 99 is my idea of a good day.

One thing I do love about spring is getting out all of my vintage spring decor.

Bunnies, vintage baskets and quaint little egg cups.......vintage cake toppers in colors of pinks and baby blues and daffodil yellows......

There are a few winter decorations that I keep out year round. Like my pine cone elves and my pink bottle brush tree. My winter birds and my Bethany Lowe paper pulp mica church.....I guess I keep a lot out year round lol.

6 months = Shots

Karsen turned 6 months old last week which meant a Dr visit would soon follow which meant shots would follow that!

At her appointment yesterday, my baby girl weighed 17.5 lbs and was 25" long.

She is measuring in the 75% percentile for weight, and the 25% for height. (short & fat)

She did not like all the shots she got either. Mommy also did not like the shots. It made for a very sleepless night.

But these 1930's composition dolls are lovely too.

Something about the frozen, hand painted faces I just love.
