I Heart Vintage Baby Planters!

My first planter. I bought it at Goodwill for $1.00! Its a Napcoware planter from the 1950's.

In my opinion, in the vintage world of collectibles.......there is nothing as sweet and precious as a vintage baby planter!

I began collecting vintage baby planters a few years ago. They are probably one of the easiest things to collect. I find them everywhere. From yard sales, to thrift stores, it is probably the easiest collectible (and most affordable) to find from that era.

I am a little picky however, about the ones I bring home.

I am particularly in love with the planters from the mid 50's era.

Sweet little lambs, babies with tender faces and the muted pastel colors of the times grab my attention.

While my little ones are still growing (ages 8 & 6) I have had to keep my collection put up safely in the top of my closet, but I do look forward to the day when I can have an entire room devoted to my lovely planters.

Also a lovely tradition started in my family is my husband and I have saved the planters given to us on the births of our children and one day, when we are blessed to have grandchildren we will deliver the flowers to our new grand babies in the planters saved from their parents days in the hospital! Almost an heirloom like quality!

Here are just a couple of my favs. Enjoy!

I like to keep this vintage German celluloid baby inside of my planters along with vintage diaper pins and vintage floral picks.

This little lamb is from Lane & Co from Van Nuys, Ca. I found him on ebay for 5.00!
