Snow Days Are the BEST Days!

Growing up, I cannot remember winters where there wasn't at least one decent snow.

However, that hasn't been the case for my children the last 4 years.

Our area in North Carolina has not had a decent snow fall in years. My two youngest have never remembered playing in enough snow where you could actually build a snow man and not deplete the entire yard of snow.

Last night we finally got to see some snow and how beautiful it was!

After hours of rain, then sleet around 6pm it started to snow, and snow, and snow.

At 3am it was still snowing.

We woke up like it was Christmas morning!

Poor Ashton, my only girl...since we havn't had any snow the last 4 years the only snow gear she had was a snow suit from 2006 that barely fit. She had to wear her brothers green waterproof snow coat and black snow boots.

For a little girl who only wears pink, this took a second to deal with. After thinking it over, she relented to wearing boy clothes and once she was in the snow she quickly got over it.

So out we went and we played hard. I can't wait until later this evening when it gets dark and we go out again. There is nothing like playing in the snow when it's dark.

Here's to snow days and hot chocolate afternoons!
