I bought these little guys a couple of years ago at a local Goodwill for about .50 cents each. They are labeled 1979 Enesco.
Their paint was totally gone. They were washed out. They weren't looking very gnome'ish. I took some before pictures but they were somehow deleted by my angry digital camera. This is what they probable looked like in better days, lets say 1981:
My gnomies needed a makeover! These guys needed to be rehabbed.
I turned Gnome #1 into a Spring Gnome. His original load was apples or tomatoes. I turned them into speckled robins eggs. I painted his gnome hat pink, made his boots a bright shade of yellow and even though I detest UNC, I painted his shirt powder blue.

Gnome #2 was carrying a lantern so I thought he could be Gnome Fall. I painted leaves onto his base, turned his cap a halloween orange color and presto---he is now fashioned for fall.

I love gnomes. My mom gave me a Gnome book by Rien Poortvliet and Wil Huygen when I was 8. The pictures were amazing.
I seriously believed in Gnomes. I looked for them when I would go outside and play. Sadly, I never found any though.
I love how my Gnomes turned out but I decided to put my Gnomes on the market. They deserve a better home than my curio can give them.
To ETSY they go!
Cute gnomes!
ReplyDeleteI love their non-traditional colors.
