Fall in Richmond

I totally enjoyed having my mom, sister, grandma and nieces & nephew visit us so much last week!

My sister and I found the most incredible antique flea market. We spent literally all afternoon there finding so many treasures.

A Mason's Ironstone Tea Pot "Bow Bells" brown transferware. Goodwill find while out shopping with Raini!

Lillie, Harley, Gracie & my sister Raini at the Rockwood Park Nature Center

The only downer was when Tate came down with the flu. We had to curb some trick or treating and it meant Tate couldn't come with us to explore some of downtown old Richmond but all in all it was wonderful having my family here.

One of the most beautiful places to visit in Richmond is St. Johns Church.

This is where famed Patriot Patrick Henry gave his impassioned speech, "Give me Liberty or give me death".

It is open year round and you can just feel the history surround you as you walk thru the graveyard. The graveyard is also where Edgar Allen Poe's mother is buried.

We also visited the Soldiers & Sailors monument located on a bluff overlooking the James River. The houses that have been preserved in this area are gorgeous!

We let the kids trick or treat to a few houses. Tate rode his John Deere gator and the kids collected his candy for him. We still managed to have a good time.

My niece Lillie was a Cameron Crazie!

I miss my family! It was wonderful having them here for a few days. I am so thankful for the love of my family. And even though Papa isn't here to enjoy these good times with us, he would be happy knowing we were still having good times.
